Eggs of Mallard Ducks under Incubation

Today, we focus on the Mallard Ducks that are incubating their eggs here and there in the Courtyard.
In case of ducks, usually only female incubate their eggs. Let's have a look at one of their nests while the mother duck is away for food.....

There they are, that many!

What about other nests? Let's see.....

Here's a mother duck, sitting on its eggs! Let's get out, we don't want to disturb the mother any longer.....

Ducks are incubating their eggs in a number of places on the island in the Courtyard Pond. You might be able to see some families of ducks swimming together in the pond by early to mid May. It'll be repored here when that realises.

Some ducks lay eggs without building any nest and leave them alone. Such eggs are collected by the ducks staff and taken into the incubator to hatch artificially.
ふ卵器
This is the incubator that the Garden uses.

A shot inside the incubator. It keeps the ideal temperature and humidity for the hatch.
If everything goes all right, these eggs will hatch out from early to mid May.

Please keep checking out the Garden for cute Mallard Duck babies!
