Exhibition of Lilies 


It's getting warm recently, and plants of lilies started unfolding their flowers.
Today we focus on two cultivars that are exhibited at the Begonia Zone now.

"Tiny Ghost"
This Asiatic lily is about 35cm tall. Its flowers are small but in colour of unique purple.

"Farolito"
This Oriental lily is about 60cm tall. Its flower is pink and spotted.

Asiatic lilies are a group of hybrid lilies from a line of Lillium davuricum. Their flowers, that are tend to open upright, are relatively small and lack fragrance, but they show abundant colour variation.

Oriental lilies are hybrids between Japanese species;L. auratum, L. japonicum, L. rubellum, L. speciosum, L. nobilissimum etc.. They bear big, gorgeous flowers, and many of them have fragrant flowers.

The lilies are at the beginning of their flower. Other hybrids will join in the exhibition one after another when they unfold their flowers. Please keep checking them out!
