Caulescent Streptocarpus

Today we focus on caulescent Streptocarpus, that is usually called 'Saxorum' among plant staff of Kobe Kachoen.

Caulescent Streptocarpus is similar to the stemless Streptocarpus that is displayed on the tierred stand in the Kachoen. It has smaller flowers than stemmless ones.

Kobe Kachoen displays this floriferous and beautiful plant in hanging baskets.

Presence of the stem makes stemmed cultivars very different from stemless ones.

This caulescent Streptocarpus is a non hardy perennial herb, and it belongs to Gesneriaceae.

It is a relatively easy grower among flowers in the Kachoen, and it is available at the Flower Shop in the Garden. A brief introduction is handed to all the customers when they buy a plant at the shop. What about purchasing one as a commemoration of your visit to the Garden?
