今回は、タイトルにもあるとおり、「ちょっとヘンなフクロウ」　をご紹介していきます。
As the title suggests, this issue focuses on odd eagle owls.

最初のフクロウは、ベンガルワシミミズク(Bubo bengalensis)のモリです。
２００５年生まれのオスで、飛行ショーではいつも素晴らしいフライトを見せる、お客様の人気を集めているフクロウです。
The first one is Mori the Rock Eagle Owl(Bubo bengalensis). Born in 2005, this male owl is popular among visitors with smart flight during the flight show.

そんなモリにも、欠点があります。実はモリ、羽づくろいが大の苦手なのです。
However, Mori has a weak point;it is clumsy about preening itself.

この写真は、水浴び後のモリの姿です。

羽づくろいをしっかりしていると、羽が水を弾くのでずぶ濡れにならないのですが、羽づくろいが行き届いていないと羽に脂がなくなり、水を吸ってしまいます。
The feathers of a bird are water-resistant when the bird preens itself well, but poor preening causes feathers the shortage of oil, making feathers absorb water.

モリは全身がずぶ濡れになっています。よほど羽づくろいをサボっていたのでしょうね。
Mori is soaking wet all over, meaning that it has been preening itself very poorly.

自慢の羽角も、ご覧のとおり倒れてしまっています。
実はこんなに体は小さかったんです。普段、どれだけ羽で体が大きく見えているのか、よくわかりますね。
Its ear tufts are flat on its head.
And just look how slender its body is! You can see how its feathers make its body look inflated.

この写真は、食事をして、胃で消化できなかった、羽や骨をペリットという塊にして吐き出すときのモリです。ちょっと苦しそうですね。
This shot shows Mori regurgitating pellet, a cluster of undigested parts of food such as feathers and bones. It looks rather embarrassed.

普段、口は羽に隠れて小さく見えますが、意外と大きく開くんですね。
Usually hidden among feathers, its mouth actually opens quite wide.

もう一羽、ヘンな行動を見せるフクロウを紹介しましょう。ブログ初登場、トルクメニアンワシミミズク(Bubo bubo turcomanus)のラディです。
Here's another owl with strange behaviour;Ruddy the Eurasian Eagle Owl(Bubo bubo turcomanus). This is its first time to be featured on the weblog.

同じトルクメニアンワシミミズクのマロンはふれあいを担当しているのですが、
ラディは展示室担当のなので、いつも長屋門展示室で暮らしています。
Though Maron, another Eurasian Eagle Owl, is in charge of handling, Ruddy spends most of the time in a booth of Owl Collections in the Nagayamon.

マロンは、ラディより少し羽の色が薄いです。
Maron has a little paler plumage than Ruddy.

さて、このラディ、水浴びの仕方が変わっています。動画でご覧ください・・・
Ruddy has a strange way of bathing. Here is a video clip.....

ラディは水浴びの際、何故か顔しか水に浸かりません。
Somehow it only dips its face into water.

残念ながら、ラディが顔を洗うのは開園前の８：００頃で、お客様が直接ご覧いただける確率はとても低いのです。
It is a pity that since Ruddy washes its face around eight o'clock in the morning, far earlier than 9:30 when the Garden opens, visitors can hardly see it.

他にも、風変わりな行動をするフクロウが、当園の展示室にいるかもしれません。ご来園の際に観察してみると、思わぬ発見があるかもしれませんよ。
Perhaps some other owls in the Owl Collection show odd behaviour. Careful observation during your visit might result in an unexpected discovery.

Grey Crowned Crane

今回は、中庭池の陰の存在ともいうべき、あまりブログに出ていなかった鳥を紹介したいと思います。
This issue focuses on a sort of "hidden bird" in the Courtyard Pond, the bird that has seldom been introduced in the weblog;

ホオジロカンムリヅルです。
Grey Crowned Crane.

この鳥は、中庭池の真ん中にある大きな島で一日のほとんどを過ごしています。
The crane spends most of the time on the islet in the pond.

カンムリヅル２ Woods on the islets conceal the crane from the eyes of the visitors,

時々、水を飲みに岸辺に出てくることがあり、その時にはお客様の目にふれやすくなります。
except when the crane goes down the shore to drink water.

先日、この鳥の水浴びの撮影に成功しました。
Only the other day, I was successful in taking pictures of bathing of the crane;

水に濡れたせいで、冠羽がみすぼらしくなってしまってますね。
finally the crest of the crane was soaking wet and distorted.

How Do Birds Keep Out Heat?

Today, let's see how birds spend a hot day.
今天和大家分享一下鸟儿们在炎热夏天的样子。
오늘은 무더운 날의 새들의 모습을 보여 드리겠습니다.

These Golden Pheasants are bathing in dust with soil in a container. Though each container was covered with a sheet to avoid soil loss, but the pheasants remove the sheet and bathe in cool dust in the container.
首先是锦鸡们。它们正在花盆里的土里避暑。为了不让它们破坏盆里的土，特意在上面改了一层地毯，但显然没能起到作用。
금계.화분통안의 흙에서 딩굴고 있습니다. 흙을 파헤치지 못하게 덮게를 덮어 놓았지만 덮게를 제끼고 시원한 흙안에서 더위를 피하고 있습니다.

Is this Golden Pheasant alive?-----yes, it is. It is bathing in warm sand heated by sunshine.
这只锦鸡…… 您放心，它还活得好好的。它是在温暖的沙堆上沐浴着沙滩浴呢。
이 금계는… 괜찮습니다.아직 잘 살아 있습니다. 이 금계는 따스한 모래위에서 딩굴고 있습니다.

Scrubbing its back with sand, it gets rid of the dust and parasites among feathers.
把后备埋在沙子里，把羽毛上粘着的垃圾和寄生虫抖落。
등을 흙에 비비면서 깃털사이에 들어 있는 쓰레기나 붙어 있는 기생충 등을 털어버리고 있습니다.

These Mallard Ducks and stilts are sunbathing, dozing with their eyes closed.
这只鸭子和长脚鷸是在笔者双眼享受阳光浴吗？
청둥오리와 논병아리는 일광욕을 하고 있는건지 눈을 지그시 감고 있네요.

Nickey the Himalayan Monal keeps immobile behind a sign.
这是棕尾虹雉尼可，藏在看板后面一动不动。
무지개 꿩 닉키.간판뒤에 숨어 꼼짝않고 있습니다.

Dynamic bathing of Mute Swan.
疣鼻天鹅在水池里快乐的游泳。
혹고니가 시원하게 수영을 하고 있습니다.

This Chukar is taking a nap on cool sand for dust bath.
这只石鸡正在凉爽的沙子上睡午觉。
추카는 시원한 모래판위에서 낮잠을 자고 있는 중입니다.

Raou the Indian Peafowl is also taking a nap, on a windbreak of northern exit of the Courtyard.
印度孔雀拉哦正在北侧的出入口睡午觉。
인도공작새 라오는 북쪽 출입구의 지붕위에서 낮잠을 자고 있습니다.

Huge Wall of Lilies

A new exhibition is added to International Exhibition of Lilies 2010 that is popular since early May. Let's see how the new object was made.
神户花鸟园5月上旬开始的百合展大受好评，近来又新增了一个花样。
下面给大家简单介绍一下它的制作过程。
5월초부터 전시를 시작하여 호평을 받고 있는 국제백합쇼에 새로운 전시가 추가되였습니다.그 제조과정을 간단히 소개드리겠습니다.

22 bamboo shoots about 5m long were arranged in a row about 7m wide at a corner of Water Lilies Zone, holes are opened on each and every columns to insert cut lilies. This picture shows the state before the lilies were inserted.
在西睡莲池一角落，用22根竹子立了高5米、宽7米的屏障，在每一根竹子的每一个节上挖了个洞，然后把百合插在这个这个孔里。照片是插上百合之前的雏形。
서쪽 수련못의 한 귀퉁이에 대나무 22대로 높이 5미터,너비 7미터의 병풍을 만들고 대나무 토막마다에 구멍을 뚫어 백합을 꽂았습니다.이 사진은 백합을 꽂기 전의 사진입니다.

Two holes are opened on upper part of a culm;front one for inserting cut lilies, rear one for pouring water.
在每节竹子的上方都挖开两个洞洞，前面的用于插百合，后面的用于灌水。
매 토막마다의 윗부분에 구멍을 두개 뚫습니다.앞의 구멍은 백합을 꽂고 뒤의 구멍으로는 물을 줍니다.

A culm can keep much water in it.
这样就可以往竹子里灌入足够的水。
이렇게 대나무안에 물을 가득 넣습니다.

The preparation is ready and cut lilies are set, mainly pink ones and white ones this time. Mobile elevating work platforms are used for high culms.
前期工作做完之后，就可以插花了。这回选择的是粉色和白色的百合。为了美观，插花的时候一定要注意颜色的搭配，高的地方需要借助高所作业车的力量。
준비가 끝나면 백합을 꽂습니다.이번에는 흰색과 핑크색을 선택했습니다.꽂을때는 같은 색이 한데 몰리지 않도록 신경을 써서 꽂아야 합니다.그리고 높은 곳에 꽂을 땐 작업차의 힘을 빌어야 합니다.

Secret Garden of Ducks

A lot of lilies are exhibited in the Courtyard now.
现在中庭正在举行百合花展。
지금 중전에서는 백합을 전시하고 있습니다.

Thanks to the daily efforts of staff members in charge of plants, beautiful flowers of various colours are in bloom.
五颜六色的百合争奇斗艳。这都是植物工作人员每天辛苦工作的结果。
각양각색의 꽃이 피여 있어 아주 예쁩니다.이것은 식물스탭이 매일 정성을 들여 가꾼 결과입니다.

But, in contrast with their beautiful flowers, their lower leaves are almost completely torn off. Who on earth have done that?.....
但不知为什么这些美丽的百合花下方的叶子全部没有了，到底是怎么一回事？
이렇게 예쁜 백합인데 맨 아랫쪽의 잎이 뜯겨 아주 가련해 보입니다.대체 누가 그랬을까?

Look, this is the guilty one!
哦，原来是你们惹得祸。
오,범인은 여기에 있었습니다.

Can you see some Mallard Ducks hiding in the bush of lilies? They collect leaves of lilies for their nest.
看到了吗？有只绿头鸭藏在里面，它们用百合的叶子做了自己的窝。
보입니까?백합사이에 청둥오리가 숨어 있습니다.얘들이 백합잎으로 집을 지었던 것입니다.

Orange eggs of Golden Pheasant are seen on the right in this nest. Perhaps a pheasant laid the eggs and left them alone.
这里面还有雉鸡的蛋，右边米色的就是。一定是趁绿头鸭不在的时候偷偷在这里产下的。
여기안에 금계의 알이 섞여 있습니다.오른쪽은 살색의 것이 금계알입니다.청둥오리가 없는 사이에 슬그머니 알을 놓고 간것이 틀림없습니다.

"Say, this is my home!"
“这里可是我的地盘。”
“여긴 내 자리야.”

Please drop in at the Courtyard to see beautiful lilies during your visit, and you may find some ducks hiding beneath the lilies!
